frequently asked questions

Plasma Fibroblast

  • Using a pen-like device with a metal tip, targeted electric currents are sent over the skin without touching it directly. This creates small holes or mirco-injuries which target the skin’s fibroblast cells which are cells that help wounds heal and maintain skin’s tightness. Collagen can even continue to develop for up to a year after your treatment.

  • Some immediate tightening may be seen post-treatment, but full skin collagen proliferation and rejuvenation results take 10 weeks on the face and longer on the neck and body. Collagen can even continue to develop for up to a year after your treatment.

  • The results you get are permanent, however, your skin will still continue to age over time. Additional treatments may be desired to see the full rejuvenation of certain areas, and the number of treatments will depend on the depth of wrinkles, texture, and age of the skin, as well as aftercare and lifestyle factors.

Age, Smoking and excess carbohydrate consumption (skin glycation) can lengthen healing time.

Multiple treatments to the same area should be scheduled a minimum of 8 weeks apart.

  • This procedure is very safe, however, making sure you are a good candidate, practicing excellent aftercare and religious use of SPF is important.

After the treatment there will be some inflammation, redness and swelling for 1-3 days, swelling and redness may range from mild to extreme, especially in the eye area. After 2-3 days small carbon crusts or scabs will form. After 5-8 days the scabs will begin to fall off. There may be peeling and dryness.

For older clients, smokers and those with healing disorders the dots may take longer to shed. After shedding, you may experience mild hypopigmentation (light spots) or mild hyperpigmentation (dark spots), which usually clear up in 2-8 weeks. Occasionally, pink atrophic spots (where the dots were applied) can last up to 6-12 months after treatment, although this is incredibly rare. Some areas such as the body and neck take much longer to fully heal than the face.

Vitamin C can be used topically as well as melanin inhibitors like hydroquinone before and after the treatment, and they will eventually resolve. SPF and sun protection is of the utmost importance in the months after Plasma Lift.

There is always the small possibility of infection immediately after treatment, so cleanliness is extremely important.

Please be aware of the signs of serious infection like excessive pain, abnormal swelling, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site. Let me know if anything seems off, I will also be checking in and asking for photos as you heal.

  • Some immediate tightening may be seen post-treatment. A minimum of 3 treatments is recommended. The first 3 treatments should be within 48-72 hours of each other. Additional treatments can be once a week until 8 treatments have been reached. Then, an 8-week healing period is recommended to allow full skin collagen proliferation and rejuvenation before an additional series.

  • The results you get are permanent, however, your skin will still continue to age over time, so we say results can last 2-5 years. Additional treatments may be desired to see the full rejuvenation of certain areas, and the number of treatments will depend on the depth of wrinkles, texture, and age of the skin, as well as aftercare and lifestyle factors.
